For those of you that don't know, I suddenly fell ill on Nov 26th with a seriously inflamed and infected gall bladder. I was hospitalised for a few weeks in the first half of December, during which time I had an operation to remove it and was kept in until well enough to continue my convalescence at home. Sadly, I had to cancel my December appointments.
I foolishly assumed I would be back up and running as soon as I got home. Unfortunately, recovery is taking a lot longer than I expected. It's not helped by the fact that I caught the flu in hospital, whilst recovering from my operation. I had to stay in for an extra week, and that illness has slowed me down further.
Below is an outline of how I plan to return to work in the New Year, and what it means for you.
From Jan 6th, I will do a staged return to work, working part-time until I am back to strength and able to work full hours. I will prioritise bookings for customers I had to cancel in December.
However there are some restrictions on which dogs I can and can't groom:
I can begin to groom small and light dogs. Unfortunately, I can only rebook large or heavy dogs when I am strong enough to handle them confidently.
I can groom dogs who stay with me by themselves. I ask customers who stay for their grooming appointments to be patient until I can rebook you.
I am unable to do collections and drop offs in the car, or to groom in customers' homes for the time being.
I can only groom one dog at a time.
If I can't fit you in, and you need an appointment urgently, I will continue to recommend my groomer friend Helena, who works in Edgware. I have worked alongside her before and know her methods, so I can vouch for the fact that she is a kind and gentle 1-1 groomer.
All my customers have been amazingly understanding. Even though I know these things are unavoidable, I still want to express how sorry I am for the inconvenience. Good health is the most important thing we have, so please bear with me whilst I work on regaining mine.
